EARLY YEARS & PRIMARY · UP TO AGE 10

Build the foundations.
Keep the curiosity.

At this stage, your child is learning how to learn. Our approach starts with manageable steps, clear explanations and time to explore — with you close enough to help, without needing to lead every answer.

The open sandbox is available now with synthetic fractions examples. The wider curriculum for this stage is in development; the demo is not a live tutoring or enrolment service.

SUPPORT THAT FITS THE STAGE

What useful support
looks like here.

Early learners need foundations and encouragement, not a race through questions. Their age is a starting point; what they understand determines the next step.

01

Notice the starting point.

Short, low-pressure questions can reveal whether a child understands the idea or is remembering an answer.

02

Make the idea concrete.

Use pictures, objects and worked examples. Introduce symbols when the underlying meaning is clear.

03

Leave space to explain.

Ask “How did you work that out?” A drawing, gesture or short explanation can tell you more than a score.

A SHARED GOAL. DIFFERENT ROLES.

For you: a clearer way to help.

  • See which ideas your child can explain independently, and where they still need a prompt.
  • Get simple suggestions for everyday conversations, rather than another list of homework.
  • Keep sessions manageable and stop when concentration gives way to frustration.

For your child: support that feels possible.

  • One clear goal at a time, with hints available when needed.
  • Interesting examples without pressure to be fast or perfect.
  • A chance to try a new question after seeing an explanation.

QUESTIONS FOR THIS STAGE

A clearer picture.

Will this replace reading, play or school?

No. The intended service supports learning alongside school, play, reading and everyday conversation. It should fit around a child’s life, rather than take it over.

What if my child is working above or below their year group?

The proposed approach uses evidence of understanding and prerequisite knowledge rather than age alone. Appropriate support and extension should follow what the child can do.

Can we try something now?

The landing page has a scripted fractions demo. It is an example of the approach, not a full primary curriculum or a validated assessment.

MORE WAYS TO BUILD UNDERSTANDING

Choose the approach.
Keep the goal.

Explore diagrams, worked examples, guided steps, real-world contexts and retrieval practice. Read-aloud and smaller chunks provide additional ways to access an explanation.

Readiness varies within an age group. Learning recommendations should follow individual knowledge, needs and goals.
